*lovely Folk*
Since moving to London we have had the pleasure of getting to know two lovely & very talented people :: Foy who's debut album 'Hope' is a treat for the ears and the soul:: he has such a powerful voice::his lyrics are beautifully poetic + the lovely Joanne who paints amazing portraits, which are also featured on Foy's album. A very talented couple indeed!
R & I had the privilege to go to the itunes festival in AIR Studios last week. Some names you may recognize have recorded here :: U2...Paul McCarthy...Coldplay...George Michael...to name a few! The line up on the night included Billy Bragg, KT Tunstall, Leo Abrahams & the lovely Foy Vance.
Here's a snip it of what the review said :: Foy Vance’s set started with a bluesy riff, building up his sound with looped vocals and harmonies. “I won’t talk much because I want to fit in as many songs as possible”, he told the audience. “It’s not because I don’t like talking to you”. Next song “Shed a Little Light” showcased his soulful voice, and by this point it was clear to everyone in the room that this was going to be a magical set.
So true...& to make things even more magical if that was possible, it was in a stunning setting in an old converted church. A good night was had by all!
