{friends}
last week I had a lovely day catching up with Corrie
& John 2 very talented friends from back home.
Corrie has since moved to the States, John to Belfast
& of course I to London...it was kind of strange to think
that we have all moved from our hometown of Dublin.
We talked about the things we missed & how it can be
difficult to get to know others & make new friends. It's
easier when you're a kid, do you remember how you just
blatantly asked or were asked, "do you want to be my
friend?"...how sweet...can you imagine doing that now?
We also chatted about what we really liked about where
we were living now. It had been such a long time since
we had spent time together, so we had a lot of catching
up to do. We meet up in the Tate Modern & then headed
out to a few galleries around London.
Out of The Ordinary: Spectacular Craft Exhibition at
the V&A exceeded any expectations I had. Craft often
brings up images of quilts & cross stitch, but this
was all together more fine art based. Anne Wilson's
work here was particularly beautiful & inspirational.
We also had a look at the The Golden Age of Couture
I came away feeling very inspired indeed & was
itching to get back into the studio. It did make me
question if I was born in the right era though...the clothes
were amazing...I came away wanting to buy some Audrey
Hepburn..esq vintage clothes & feeling like my own
wardrobe was having some kind of malfunction of
its own!
